COLLINGWOOD legend Nathan Buckley has announced that he will not take up a position as assistant coach at the West Coast Eagles.

As reported on FootyHeads last week, the Eagles had approached Buckley, as well as Mark Ricciuto and Michael Voss offering each of them a spot in the coaching box for next year and beyond.

Buckley confirmed that Eagles coach John Worsfold contacted him last month, but told him that he was satisfied with his current role in the media.

FOOTYHEADS: Would Buckley make a good senior coach of an AFL side?

Have your say, FootyHeads!
