WATSON SIGNS NEW DEAL

ESSENDON midfielder Jobe Watson has signed a new two-year deal with the Bombers, tying him to Windy Hill until the end of the 2010 season.

Team Manager David Calthorpe said that the latest Watson to don the red and black was very much a part of Essendon’s premiership aspirations.

“In the past two years, he has improved considerably as a player and at just 23 years old, he will be a key part of the Essendon midfield for years to come.”

“We believe he will play a big role in our next premiership tilt,” said Calthorpe.

The Bombers team manager said he was proud to be see another member of the Watson family adding to Essendon’s illustrious history.

“One of this club’s pillars is heritage and tradition and with Jobe’s father Tim also having a distinguished career in red and black, this contract is a significant and important boost for Essendon.”
