More to the Blues Than Fevola: Knights
BY FRANK IENCO
Essendon coach Matthew Knights admits his side will need to do a lot more than just shut down Brendan Fevola to beat the Blues at the MCG this Sunday.
While acknowledging Fevola, who kicked eight goals in last Sunday’s match against Collingwood, is an important part of Carlton’s set-up, Knights said the Blues were even across the the ground.
“We can’t focus on Fevola because it will leave others open but he is a significant player,” he said. ”He’s a big part of the way we’re planning but they’ve got a midfield that is providing great inside 50 work.”
“What they are getting is a really even contribution at the moment from a lot of players and that’s really significant for them.”
The two sides have already met once this season, with the Bombers prevailing by 16 points in round three.
