YET another member of Queensland’s all-conquering 2006 national championship winning side will make his AFL debut this weekend.

Brisbane’s Courier Mail reports North Melbourne youngster Gavin Urquhart will make his debut in his home state when the Kangaroos take on Brisbane at the ‘Gabba.

“He has developed really well from last year when he was in (feeder club) North Ballarat’s reserves,” North Melbourne football manager Donald MacDonald said.

“Over summer he has worked really hard. He uses the ball really well and we are very happy with his progress.”

Urquhart is the tenth player from the 2006 national champions to play in the AFL and the first AFL player to hail from Rockhampton.

The sixth-placed Kangaroos face the eight-placed Lions on Saturday night.
