Kerr Happy to Remain An Eagle
BY FRANK IENCO
West Coast’s midfield star Daniel Kerr says he wants to re-sign a new deal with Eagles, quashing speculation he was keen on a return to Melbourne.
Kerr, whose current contract at the club expires at the end of next season, says he is not sure where the rumours have started from.
“I’m definitely not the one starting them, either is my manager. I’m happy at the Eagles and it’s strange it’s come up again really,” Kerr said.
“I’m more than happy to stay in Western Australia. I’m happy to be with the Eagles,” he said. “I’ve got a lovely girlfriend, my family’s here, why would I move?”
In news that would delight Eagles fans followng the departures of Chris Judd and Ben Cousins at the end of last season, Kerr says he would jump at the chance to sign a long-term deal to stay if the club offered him one.
“I don’t think there’s any player in the AFL who’s happy at a club that wouldn’t like a long-term deal.”
