ESSENDON veteran Scott Lucas is a “very good chance” to play against Adelaide on Friday night.

Lucas has not played since injuring his posterior cruciate ligament in the Bombers’ round one win over North Melbourne.

Speaking from training this morning Bombers coach Matthew Knights said Lucas was a good chance of returning, after a successful rehabilitation program.

“The way Scott has attacked his rehab has been enormous,” Knights said.

“At this stage he’s been selected in the 22 to play.”

“We’ve got our last training session tomorrow morning [and] if he comes through that with flying colours he’ll play in the 22 on Friday night.”
