    Hi Guys

Hutchy, I asked the question last episode about player managers commentating on the game. While I disagree with your answer, I respect your honesty and thank you for tackling the question front on.

What do you think of the rumblings at the Bombers that Knights may have overrated the list during his interviews for the coaching job last year? If I remember, he said the Bombers should be aiming for the finals this year?

Why did Essendon choose a bloke that was so far away from their apparent criteria, i.e. premiership success as a player or coach for one?

I’m not an Essendon supporter, but I’m interested to know how long you think he will stay in the job for? How much patience do the Bombers have?

  2. Greeneyes (FEAMALE) says

    HI Guys,
My question this week is if the Dream Team had of won by a big margin do you think the perception of the dream team would be different in a lot of peoples eyes? I thought lots of hype but not much about the game, our house was the destination to be for the game with the neighbours and the disappointment had set in in the first quarter, they all thought it should be State of Origin and had hoped it might have some spark like in the old days, we turned the TV down and the boys told stories about their encounters with State of Origin (BBQs, alcohol and the next day)
I’m QLD born but live in SA much to every ones horror I was backing the BIG V all the way.
Come on Guys last week wasn’t 5 minutes it was only 3.46minutes I can not have a coffee and a piece of chocolate in 3.46 minutes, come on Chris haven’t you learnt any thing from Hutchy maybe you should have 1 or 2 questions as back up so the your members get the full 5 minutes!!!!

  3. FREAK says

    Hi Guys
Do you condone this Hutchy? what are your views on this?
Good on you Mark Williams of not so much Hawthorn fame, as a Port supporter what a great game both teams played a beauty. Pitty the only decent kick you got all day you spoiled with that gesture. Talking of chocking your club has chocked for the last 15 years, and have achieved nothing!!! Warren Tredrea got crucified for bowing in a prelim final when his team was ten goals up. What should Mark Williams cop?

  4. FREAK says

    Hutchy
what is your interpretation of the rule when Daniel Motlop got given a free against him for grabbing the ball from a ball up straight after the umpire had bounced it. As I see it once the ball is bounced it is play on and people only expect the ruckmen to contest it. By the way how many games do you think Shane Crawford will get for his punch to Dean Brogan?

    May 17th, 2008 | #

  5. Phillip Molly Malone says

Freak, the rule says you can’t touch thet ball till its on the way down.
On the Choke sign, what punishment did Mark Williams (PA) get when he did it after the 2004 Grand Final? Was that day “spoiled with that gesture”? Unlike your club that lets there pretty boys get away with this, the Hawks did something about it already and made the guy appologies for the silly thing he did!

Crawf should get a week for doing something Silly (he didn’t really hit him that hard, in fact how are they going to word the charge?)! But at least he did it on the Field and not in an Airport like some people that should remain nameless (how many weeks did he get for that again)? Freak, people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones or stand up in the bath!

This is ask hutch, so let me try to predict a question. Don’t you think Shuan Burgoen should have got 3 weeks for the hit on Mitchell?

    Molly
PS. Lepper McGlynn should probably get a week for being reckless. Cornes moved his head into it, but Benny was pretty dangerous in his action.

  6. FREAK says

Good on you Molly, the question was for Hutchy (who can give judgement with out being biast) not a BIAST Hawthorn supporter. Mark Williams (PA) did the gesture after the 2004 grand final as Port had been labeled choker in finals and was indicating that they had broken this tag. Mark Williams of Hawthorn had nothing to do with this, The incident on Mitchell was nothing, McGlynn should get off but give the three games to Crawford, and silly big mouthed crow supporters deserve to cop that. A hit weather hard , soft, silly is against the rules especially coming from one of the most reported players of recent times.

  7. Phillip Molly Malone says

Well, Freak, actually do you know that Willo made the sign at the PA Coach or did he make it at the PA Players that allegedly where sledging the hawks about the game down in Tassie last year between the teams?

On the Mitchell incident, it seems that something did happen and SB is looking at 3 weeks for it! McGlynn shouldn’t get off as what he did was very dangerous and doesn’t need to happen in the game any more (and I say that being a huge Lepper fan!)
Crawford should get none but if he has to take 1, its the best opponent to get it against (no disrespect to the Melbourne, but they are on the bottom of the ladder) and the bonus is that instead of playing his 300th game in the HOLE that is Adelaide, he gets to play it in the sporting Capital of the World, Melbourne!

But thanks for playing, better luck next week!
    Molly

  8. Cyril from Frankston says

    Hutchy,

do you think Hawthorn\’s style of play under Alaister Clarkson is pushing the boundaries of what is considered as \”sociable football\”?

    May 20th, 2008 | #

  9. Ravinder from Taylors Lakes says

Do you think Matthew Knights over-rated his list when he took over Kevin Sheedy, or have injuries simply de-railed the the Bombers season?

    May 20th, 2008 | #

  10. Booka says

    Hi Guys,

You know I have a thing for player managers. What about news of Michael Voss taking an active role with GC17 AND being a player manager at the same time….surely this is a huge conflict of interest?

Which team is in the worst position to make an assault on the next five years, and which team is in the best position?

  12. sizzling cyril says

    Hutchy,

should the AFL be embarrassed with the crowd that turned up for the North Melbourne and West Coast game last Saturday night?

Surely this will be the last time a match is played up there involving North Melbourne

  13. glynis quatro says

    Hutchy,

with round 9 being indigenous week in the AFL, i would like to know who you think is the best indigenous player to have played the game?

    May 20th, 2008 | #

  14. Phillip says

    Hutchy,

how can the AFL tribunal justify handing Ben McGlynn a 4 match suspension and Shaun Burgoyne 3 match suspension for their respective head high bumps, when Barry Hall only got 7 for his king hit?

    May 20th, 2008 | #

  15. Benji from Toorak says

    Hutchy,

With Franklin, Roughead, Williams and Rioli performing so well in Hawthorn\’s forward line, where does this leave the likes of Beau Dowler, Mitch Thorp and Tim Boyle?? Dowler and Thorp were both Pick 6 in their respective drafts and were drafted as forwards.

Is there a chance we may see the Hawks trade one or maybe two of these at season\’s end to try and secure a key position defender?

    May 21st, 2008 | #

  16. Phillip Molly Malone says

Benji, both Dowler and Thorp are cooking quite nicely at BH and will take the footy world by storm when the time is right. The hawks would be silly to trade any of the KPP with the new teams coming in and draft picks being harder to get. They are in a position to be the greatest benefiters of the new teams and there draft concessions!
