THOMPSON CRAMPS NO CONCERN
BY ALANA LAKELAND
NORTH Melbourne forward Nathan Thompson has revealed it was his lack of conditioning that left him stranded on the field calling for the medicos on Sunday.
Spectators were worried Thompson had re-injured his knee, that required a reconstruction last year and ruined his 2007 season, when he failed to get to his feet after a collision with Sydney’s Martin Mattner.
“I’ve got no worries with the knee at all. It was purely my legs cramping up under, just through fatigue,” Thompson said.
Thompson’s work load increased with the loss of forward Aaron Edwards to a broken leg just before half time.
“Aaron went down and I wasn’t able to have a break so I was pretty much playing centre half-forward, full-forward for the whole game,” Thompson said.
FootyHeads, Who do you think will replace Aaron Edwards when the Kangaroos take on Adelaide at AAMI Stadium on Saturday night?
