SENIOR Sydney players have encouraged suspended forward Barry Hall not to resign from the Swans’ leadership group over the incident in which he punched West Coast player Brent Staker.

Coach Paul Roos last night confirmed that the group, who met with Hall yesterday, were keen for Hall to remain on the leadership panel.

“The leadership group are keen for him to stay. They have made that very clear to him,” Roos said.

“They still see him as very much a leader and they have also shown that they support him and the fact they believe the incident was out of character,” Roos said.

Hall initially proposed he resign from the leadership group over the incident that has sidelined him for seven matches.

FootyHeads, Do you think Barry Hall can set a good example for and retain the respect of the Sydney players if he remains on the leadership group?

Have your say, FootyHeads!
