Hutchy: Is there a realistic chance that Ben Cousins might one day play for Collingwood?

Hutchy, it’s time to raise the issue of totally alternate strips, the Essendon v St.Kilda game was a complete joke for a professional competition. Two clubs wearing a mish mash of the same 3 colours.

All teams should have a dark and light strip and be forced to wear them if there is the slightest clash. If an administrator or fan came from overseas and saw that mess they’d consider us a complete laughing stock.

You really need to bring this up on Footy Classified on Monday.

The after injury doesn’t work. Surely Hall/Swans says he would play this week if that was the case!

  4. Phillip Molly Malone says

Okay, You guys on FC have brought Sprawling to the main stream and from what I have seen over last few weeks, it has been umpired better. Do you agree?

Also, I reckon the umpires have wound back the strictness of the Holding the ball rule. Do you agree and do you think (as I do) it was better stricter as the game moved better?

    Molly
PS. You forgot to mention that my questions went over 4 rounds, how was I to know when you would come back!

Hey just a hint guys, why not code the file in MP4 and make it available on iTunes?
    Just a thought.

  6. Ben from Stawell says

    Hutchy,

Do you like the newly implemented fixture structure and should it be used in 2009?

How is it that we will only see Hawthorn play Geelong in Round 17 and Hawthorn and Carlton not playing each other until Round 22?

  7. Bev from Bendigo says

Surely it is time the AFL worked out a system whereby a 50M Penalty was actually measured 50M and not the ad-hoc nature in which it is measured by umpires at the moment? The same goes for the 30 second rule when kicking for goal. Surely a competition as rich as the AFL should have a more scientific approach. What happens when it costs someone their livelihood?

  8. Blues fan Slyvia says

Craig, I really enjoy Footy Classified on Monday nights. Is there any chance Channel 9 will put it on earlier?

Also, how far are the Blues away from being a real contender? Where do you think their improvement will come from?

  9. Wally T says

G’day guys. Craig, if you got a hot story about one of your Footy Show colleagues right before you went to air - something they probably wouldn’t like the public knowing - would you report it or are there things in your contract that stop you reporting sensitive things about the network?

  10. Maree says

Hi Chris and Craig. Craig, you hardly ever say anything positive about the great game we have. How many games do you go to a week…I mean games just for pleasure and not because you are being paid to be there?

Who are your favourite players? And did you sing the Geelong theme song after the GF last year? Will you sing a bit of it now?

    And Chris, are you single?

  11. MIKE says

Craig, what do you think of the plans for expansion?
How many rounds should there be?
Some of my mates think there should be two conferences, like in American sports such as baseball - is that the way to go?

  12. Suave The Cat says

    Hi Craig, Hi Chris,

Should teams in the Gold Coast and western Sydney be given a license ahead of Tasmania? How can the AFL say on one hand that there isn’t the capacity for a Tasmanian team, but then say that a Gold Coast entity only needs 20,000 supporters?

Even Melbourne gets crowds in excess of 20,000. Surely a Tasmanian team would pull 25-30k in home game attendances!!!!!

I’m not against the expansion, I just think that Tasmania should at least come before W/Sydney!

  13. Dickie Rock says

Where is the light at the end of the Melbourne tunnel? More to the point: IS there any light at the end of Melbourne’s tunnel in terms of on-field performances?

  14. Frank Ienco says

    Hi Hutchy and Chris,

With all the talk about what will happen to the 22-round season once the two new franchises come in, one idea I’ve heard in the past that hasn’t come up this time round is to shorten games so we could have more rounds but not affect players welfare.

It wasn’t that long ago that we altered the length of matches, why couldn’t we have say, 20 minutes with no time-on each quarter, and try to squeeze in the 34 rounds or so that we need to even up the draw? We could have European soccer style mid-week games to ensure the season doesn’t go on too long. Thoughts?

  16. John says

    Hutchy.
I commend you and Caro Wilson for having the cahounas to say what you think. I do however question Mr Garry Lyon. Does he EVER ask the tough questions? Or is he just on Footy Classified to be everyone’s buddy? He makes me and a lot of other people sick that he will not aks the controversial questions to the guests on the show. He is prepared to have a go at Caro though (gee real tough Garry).Even Glen Archer asked the difficult questions to that weasel Ricky Nixon (who does Nixon think he is anyway?) If Garry isn’t prepared to do the hard yards by asking these tough questions GET HIM OFF and put someone else that will.
