DEW DEBUTS AS HAWKS RECALL STARS
BY STEPHEN BAKER
HAWTHORN is set to unveil its star recruit in Stuart Dew when the Hawks meet Adelaide at AAMI stadium tomorrow night in its NAB Cup semi-final clash.
The prodigious left-footer, coaxed out of retirement by Hawks coach - and former Port Adelaide assistant - Alastair Clarkson, has undergone a gruelling pre-season regimen in an effort to regain the required fitness levels to play at the elite level.
Hawks football manager, Mark Evans said that the club was looking forward to seeing Dew make an impact in the brown and gold after drafting him last October.
“He has handled everything we have put to him so far,” he said.
“We always said he would be chance for week three or four of the NAB Cup so the next progression for him is to get into games and play.”
The Hawks have also included Trent Croad, Jarryd Roughead and Brent Guerra in their 28 man squad, while Chance Bateman will be rested and Campbell Brown will begin his suspension for charging Matthew Kreuzer.
